Hi, sorry I have been away for so long. I've been going through things, and I moved. It has been a long journey, and it has not been easy. This year, in August, marks 9 years since I was first diagnosed, and I look back through everything I have been through. It does not seem real. I was a very active person, and now there are times when I cannot move from my bed. It is difficult because I know people look at me and say or think that I look well and healthy, but the reality is different. Just because I seem to look ok does not mean that I am. Yes, there are some days I wake up with a burst of energy and do things that make it seem that I'm well, but that's just me trying to be normal and do my part in life. As I said, it does not mean that I'm ok. I am still in pain and still having the same symptoms as usual, it's just that I can do or move a bit more than usual on those certain days.
Many people will not understand, even if they have some kind of autoimmune disease or another illness, because everyone is different. People have different symptoms and tolerances. We are not all built the same, so we won't be able to know what the other person is going through. I have met several people with autoimmune diseases, and some look fine, but another has it so bad that you can tell immediately. I don't like saying "I know what you're going through," because the person who does not look like they have anything might be in more pain than the one who does look like they have an illness. I say this because, as I mentioned before, people are different and so are their tolerances. I know how it feels when you tell people or doctors how you're feeling and they don't believe you. So with this, I hope the next time you see someone, no matter what they have or do not have, don't say they look healthy or judge their appearance. A simple "hello," goes a long way
Thank you for your time and for reading this. I hope you will continue to read my blogs and I hope that I will be able to help someone in some way or even inspire them.,
